Recommended Specifications

The first component required to deploy an AIM Suite solution is a computer. This table shows the system requirements for the majority of deployments:

Other

Windows Only: To use the Intel® AIM Suite software with Windows Vista or Windows 7, User Account Control (UAC) must be disabled on the system and the software must be installed and run with an Administrator account.

Linux Only: To use the Intel® AIM Suite software with Ubuntu or Red Hat, the software must be installed by someone with sudo privileges.

The system must have an active Internet connection for deployments.

The second component needed for an AIM Suite solution is the camera.  There are two recommended camera types, which can be chosen based on the needs of your deployment.

Approximately 5 meters. USB extenders can be purchased to increase this distance.

Lighting Requirements

A brightly lit, evenly illuminated, indoor environment is required, such as a supermarket.

Face Detection Distance

Up to 25 feet at a camera resolution of 640x480. Distance can be increased by increasing camera resolution.

Lighting Requirements

A brightly lit, evenly illuminated, indoor environment (such as a supermarket) is preferred. An environment with a medium level of brightness is also acceptable, such as a restaurant in the afternoon.

Up to 25 feet at a camera resolution of 800x500

Other

Supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) Class 2. Note that Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE), such as a PoE switch, will be required to use the PoE features of the camera.
